The sun was high above the land, striking all with it's warmth that kept most inhabitants from succumbing to the bitter winter cold. No snow drifted to the ground in the odd, sunny day. However, layers and layers of the powdery ice littered across the floor, as if refusing to melt. The sunny day made it less sad then it was usually in this gloomy old beach, though still, it was sad. But one thing remained cheerful and happy. the surface of the lake was still, though deep underwater, something shifted. All was silent for a while, until suddenly..

'SPLASH!'

Well, it sounded more like a deafening crash, one that would be like.. the planet Jupiter crashing into an ocean or a nuclear bomb hitting some place. Well, anyways, a pillar of water shot up from the grand lake, and as it fell back into the lake, a giant, mile long serpent like body was revealed, glittering scales shining brightly in the sunlight, making him appear like a diamond. With a great, shuddering roar that created large cracks onto the earth while shaking it violently, he shot off into the sky, sending water flying again. With his massive speed he quickly dissapeared under the layer of clouds that loomed overhead.

A few minutes later, he darted back into the water, sending a huge wave to form and crash upon the land. Finally, the silvery serpent dissapeared once more under the dark lake, eyes closed and a grin on it's face. 'That was fun.' He thought, as he sowly swam all the way to the seafloor, and laid on there, his deep chocolate eyes staring up at the surface. A thought creeped onto the Sunner's mind, and at the same time a smirk as well. 'I know, I'll scare someone when they come by!' He praised himself for his idea, and awaited in complete silence, under the still surface.

All was quiet again.

Enter….POLiO!

Everything’s a blur. What am I to do? The bad guys are gaining on me; oh no! They’ve got a gun! Frantically I beat my wings faster and faster, feeling the wind rush by my blue-twinged beak. I have to make a safe escape if I want to save the town! Cautiously I look over my shoulder, finally satisfied to see the band guys on the distant horizon. I had won! Wait…had I? What about their evil boss? I craned my head around, sharp falcon eyes scanning the lake’s surface. There was no secret island; we can cross that off the list. What about underground? I quickly ease myself into a descent, fanning out my wings to stop the air. I’m slowly lowered to the ground, which is a bummer. I was hoping for something more fast-paced.

Hopping around on my little bird feet, the sand hot to the touch, I lay my head down on the white sand, listening. I stay there for a minute or two, hand anchored to the ground. Imagine what I sight I must’ve been! I hear nothing, nothing at all. Either I need my hearing checked or this is some kind of super mutated sand that the evil boss made so I couldn’t hear him. If that was the case, then the town I was trying to save was screwed. But maybe his secret lair isn’t the ground? What if it’s tucked away in a mountainside? Yhea, I bet that’s where it is! Hope refueled, I take off quickly again, beating my wings at a rapid pace, a excited glint in my eye.

But wait…where are the mountains? I stop, excitement doused. I hover there, falcon wings beating every few minutes, twiddling with my talons in the air. “M…Mount..tains, where…arrree y…you?” I force the words from my beak, no matter how hard. Maybe if I bribe the mountains…but with what? What do mountains like? I mean, they’re rocks..a chisel? No, that would be like giving an emo kid a knife and saying, “Here you go. Have fun.” I wasn’t gonna do that; that’s mean. I shook my head, confused. My eyes scan the lake’s surface, just watch the ripples, when I think of another possibility for the secret lair: underwater!

Excitement refueled, I take off like a rocket towards the gleaming surface of the water, and stop only when I’m inches from the suface. I crane my head downwards, trying to see into it; if I can see anything…a trap door, a submarine…How hard was this going to get? Normally the secret lairs weren’t hidden this well. I shrug, giving up on my little game. Let’s just say I saved the town – that’ll have to do. Beating my wings softly, I began to rise, feeling the lake smell on my beak. Behind me, I feel the rainbow following my every movement. Ah, I love creating rainbows. It’s especially fun to create one that is all curly and distorted. I swirl around, feeling the rainbow swirl with me in the air. I descent so close to the water that I can feel the mist on my chest; the rainbow does, too.

Finally, I end my rainbow-making session with a large ascent and a final, elegant curl. Giving my wings a great, powerful flap and kicking up my heels, I detach the rainbow from my tail and leave it hanging in the clear blue sky. It looks like a kid with ADHD got a new pack of magic markers and went wild. Just the way I like them; Polio-style. Proud of my work, I hover inside a curl in the rainbow, watching the indigos and reds glimmer in the strong sunlight of the afternoon.

ooc; That was /so/ much fun to write! xP And I’m sorry, you’re probably sick of Roleplaying with me. I totally couldn’t resist, though!

Something caught his attention. He stared up at the surface, seeing a small shadow of a bird flit around above the surface. He blinked, moving ever so slightly as he used his powerful tail to propel himself to the surface of the lake. Finally, inches away from the still surface, he could make out some small falcon. It was white and brown, and just close to some weird rainbow. Yes, a rainbow that had weird curves and turns and spins. He poked the top half of his head out of the water, appearing like an alligator. Noticing the vibrant colors of the rainbow, he grinned, revealing a set of teeth that would make a shark's teeth seem like little baby teeth.

"Niiicceee." He commented in a playful sarcastic way. His voice was light and rather cheery, despite his evil dragon- like appearance. He submerged once more, letting silence fall before shooting like a bullet out of the water. 'CRASH!' The water roared as another wave was formed and crashed on land. He hovered above the lake, his wings beating the air even though it wasn't nessicarry. He could still fly without his wings, though he didn't know why. The large dragon shook himself free of water, sending giant droplets everywhere. Once he was all dry, he turned his shiny, shimmering head from side to side, eyes scanning the area.

Where was the little birdie? The fact that it was wildly flying about and the rainbow being all weird and twisty, he could safely assume the bird had done this. And seeing as it was daylight, she was a Sunner. Yay, another Sunner. He wondered where she was, and if she was afraid of his appearance. Probably, he was a dragon for pete's sake! Oh well. He hovered a mile or so above the lake, serpent-like body coiling up like a snake. He lifted his head heavenwards and parted his jaws as he roared. "Anybody there?!" The roar was so great and so loud it took a few minutes, around seven for it to completely die out.

Tidal wave! OHMIGOSH! TIDAL WAVE! Suddenly I’m aware of the giant wall of water growing behind me, the little foot long falcon. It roars over my head, and a wave (no pun intended) of panic washes over me. My wings beat at a rapid pace, trying to escape the wave’s shadow. What if I’m…crushed, gone forever? Oh, never mind that, just fly! My tiny snow white wings beat faster than ever; my chest heaves. The drama is building; the wave is gaining, and exhaustion is starting to overtake me already. Goodbye, world…no, no! I can’t think like that. Feeling the mist in my lungs, I breath harder, tiny beak taking in as much air as possible without hyperventilating. I try to focus in on the still water in front of me until…

The wave simply vanished and rolled back into the lake. Instantly my panic dies and I stop flying, a disappointed glint in my eye as the beat of my wings slow. ”Awww…” I mumbled quietly, watching the foam disappear and merge with the lake. Well, it was fun while it lasted, right? As a soft wind blows, a sound catches my ear: ”Iiiiiiice….” Ice? Ice? What ice? Attention refocused, I looked around, falcon eyes searching for some secret ice cavern. Maybe that’s where the secret lair is! As a pick-up my game again, it becomes considerably cooler. I can feel my Sunner ‘powers’ begin to drain a little, and then my brain finally works and clicks the pieces together. I’m in a shadow.

It was just like in the movies. Horror movies, that is. The victim finally realizes that the monster’s been breathing down their neck the whole time, and turns around to find death staring them in the face. How cliché. I wasn’t falling for this one. Casually, I begin flying out of the shadow, wings beating at a steady, relaxed pace. I really don’t know what to expect. As a matter of fact, I really don’t care. It was a horrible, pathetic, over-used and over-rated movie cliché. Whatever the shadow’s to, it’s probably a Sunner, anyways. After all the sun is shining brightly today.

I open my beak and let out a soft, falcon call, still pretending to be unaware of the possible danger that lurked behind me. And then a mysterious roar echoed: ”Anybody there?!” I was amazed at the hangtime; this monster that created such a call must be bigger than the whole town of Dogsong itself. Now, I have to admit, if the monster was evil, and just the thought of it being evil sent a chill down my spine. However, I still avoided the cliché. I gave my wings another strong beat and again felt the rainbow appear behind me. I took off at a great rate, gaining altitude, until I was as high as I could possibly go, or at least I wanted to go. So there I was, two hundered feet in the air, hovering above the head of a dragon.

Cool. I smiled an amused smile and began a spiral descent around the dragon’s great silver-grey head, occasionally sticking my head in the elegant mane, just for fun. Finally, when I was level with the dragon’s nose, I landed. On it. The dragon’s nose. Giving my wings one final flap, the rainbow stopped following and broke off, leaving two Polio-style rainbows in the sky. What art! I look into the dragon’s chocolate eyes with interest, tilting my head back and forth. I dance on it’s long muzzle, feeling so out-of-proportion. ”A…Anyb…ody’s nooot h…her…here, but..Polio is.” I say happily, with some difficulty. Why is it so hard to talk with a beak?

ooc; I tried to add the details of her description in, but this is what she looks like. She has a blueish tint, so you can tell her apart.
